Esther is the founder of Alpert Associates, LLC. She has
lived in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area for nearly
twenty years and has extensive knowledge of the legal
market, both regionally and nationally.
Esther seeks to intimately understand the intricacies, objectives
and culture of her clients’ organizations, in order to appreciate
which lawyers would be welcomed additions. She works closely
with Managing Partners, Hiring Partners and heads of groups to
augment existing practice groups in accordance with an articulated
vision for growth. From the candidate angle, her philosophy is that
with insight, guidance and accurate information, the challenges
intrinsic to a lateral move can be managed. She is committed to
maximizing the experience of examining one’s options in the legal
profession and fulfilling each candidate’s unique career goals.
Esther received a B.A. in psychology from Duke University in 1986
and a J.D. from The Washington College of Law in 1991.
She served as a trial-level and an appellate judicial clerk
and was a practicing attorney before finding her niche in the
recruiting industry in 1998.
Esther lives in Annapolis, Md., with her husband Andy, who
practices law in Maryland and Washington, D.C. and their
three children, Nina, Zoe and Louis.

Tom's experiences as a law firm associate, founder of a
Web-based student athlete recruiting service, a federal judicial
clerk, a U.S. Army officer and a Division-I student athlete have
provided him with the opportunity to follow, lead, counsel, and
interact with a diversity of people and business interests in
the United States and Europe.
Tom's recruiting approach relies upon strong interpersonal skills
and a self-starting spirit to foster and develop meaningful,
productive candidate and client relationships. His extensive,
real-world knowledge of the legal market in the Washington, DC
metropolitan area allows him to fully appreciate and represent
both his clients’ and candidates’ best interests in their quest for
manageable growth and professional advancement, respectively.
Tom received a B.S. in economics from the United States Military
Academy at West Point, N.Y. in 1990 and a J.D. from the
University of Maryland School of Law in 1996. He clerked for the
Honorable Dennis W. Shedd in the U.S. District Court for the
District of South Carolina and was a litigation associate, focusing
on business law and health care, in both Washington and
Baltimore law firms. Tom lives in the Canton area of Baltimore, Md.
